Suzanne Barker Kalangis is the Executive Director of the Thornburg Charitable Foundation and Manager of Barker Properties, a group of family owned real estate companies. Prior to joining the Thornburg Charitable Foundation, she was a partner in the law firm of Modrall Sperling Roehl Harris & Sisk, P.A. where her practice was concentrated in the areas of business and tax law and trusts and estates law. While practicing law, she was named as a “Super Lawyer” in the Southwest in the area of Estates and Trusts, as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in the area of trust and estate law and was a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Ms. Barker Kalangis, a native New Mexican with strong community relationships in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, has been active in numerous community organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Albuquerque, N.A. Prior to joining the Thornburg Charitable Foundation, she served most recently on the boards of the Albuquerque Community Foundation and the New Mexico Community Foundation. Ms. Barker Kalangis is a 1976 graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law. She also received a master’s degree from Stanford University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado with degrees in both economics and mathematics. |
